Okay so anyone who watches it may know that Transformers Animated just concluded yesterday morning. My personal opinion I was a bit let down with the series finale. I know they were rushed but it still was a disappointment. Then again personally I wasn't too impressed with Animated as a series. I wanted to be, I really did, but, it was a bit of a letdown.
So I was curious as to what Transformers series you enjoyed in descending order if you've seen that many. I've seen a lot so here goes:
G1- Where it all began. Optimus Prime, Jazz, BumbleBee, Ironhide and the rest of the old soldiers. I grew up with shows like it in the 80s (GI Joe) and watching it now just brings back that good feeling. Plus it was an excellent show. (Didn't care for S3 but it was a change)
MasterForce- Only G1 era Japanese Transformers series I've seen in it's entirety almost (safe 2-4 episodes). Characterization and music was all very well done. Plot was interesting too.
Beast Wars- At first I didn't care for the animal theme when it premiered, but watching it later in life I found it to be a very well done series with characters just as memorable as those from G1.
RID- This holds a special place as the first Transformers series that really got me into the Transformers franchise and the first one where I tried to complete collection of the whole line, including Fortress Maximus!! The line had a healthy mix of molds from G1, G2, Beast Wars, and new molds. The show was real fun too. After the Beast Era it was like a return to old school. So for me it was like the G1 of the new millennium.
Galaxy Force- I saw Galaxy Force first so I tried to avoid Cybertron after seeing how bad they translated the episodes. Galaxy Force itself was one of the best anime Transformers series I've ever seen. The humans were not as annoying as some may say, in fact some were pretty useful. The animation and soundtrack were all excellent and the story was very interesting too.
Armada- A lot of people deride this as the worst Transformers series ever. There is some truth in this but I found that while it was a disappointing followup to RID it wasn't a bad series. Sure it had a very episodic Gotta Catch 'Em All vibe for the first couple of episodes it picked up as it went on. The humans in this one could be a bit annoying, but they grew on me sort of too. Plus this line had Unicron which was a major first for the toyline.
Animated- I'm sorry. I honestly wasn't very impressed with the show to be honest. And it's not just because of the series finale. I mean it was a good show for what it was. The plot was good and it had great characterization. But the designs were too Rescue Heroes for me. Plus it seemed that Animated relied too much on fan-service like they would have cameos from othe G1 Transformers.
Energon- This one really disappointed me because it started out very well. I mean if Armada was this line's seasons 1-2, this would have been the offshoot season 3 as it had Rodimus Prime (whose character was better than the original IMO). Unfortunately after a couple of episodes the story just went downhill for me. It got kind of boring too.
